Tender Thanksgiving Turkey - How to Cook a Delicious Turkey

Tender Thanksgiving Turkey - How to Cook a Delicious Turkey-Delicious

There is nothing more tasty or satisfying than a well-cooked turkey. And what better day to have it taste its best than on Thanksgiving? There are many recipes for cooking Thanksgiving turkey, but the simplest recipe is still the best tasting. With a lot of recipes, the turkey ends up tasting like a lot of the ingredients people use when cooking the turkey. The best tasting turkey is still the one that tastes like turkey; not basil, chives, onions or any other ingredient, including dressing, which has many different ingredients added for taste.

Delicious

Dressing is still the best dish to have with turkey, followed by mashed potatoes, potato salad and deviled eggs. With all these dishes you have many different types of ingredients making for a very flavorful dinner. And that's fine, but the turkey is best tasting like turkey.

Some people get up early on Thanksgiving Day and put the turkey in and cook it in a few hours. Then they wonder why the turkey is a little tough. Cooking Thanksgiving turkey overnight is the best way to enjoy very tender, flavorful turkey. You can cook the turkey in a gas oven on low heat and it will be very tender when you finish it on Thanksgiving Day. But cooking overnight with gas is a little dangerous. I usually stay up all night if I cook with gas, cooking on low, about 200 degrees, and about 7:00am turn the heat up to about 350 degrees to finish in about two hours.

You can cook the turkey on Thanksgiving Day with electric, but once again, you sacrifice flavor and tenderness. Cooking turkey overnight is again the best method with electric. And electric is much safer to use for overnight cooking than gas. But with the cost of electric today, cooking overnight with an electric range will be somewhat expensive. And since you will undoubtedly be cooking all day, cooking with an electric or gas range can cause the temperature to rise substantially.

When cooking Thanksgiving turkey, the best way to cook is with an electric roaster. It's less expensive than a range, safer than gas, and creates less heat than either of the other methods. Cooking with an electric or gas range, many people use a cooking bag to help tenderize the turkey. With an electric roaster you don't need the bag, although you can use one. I personally don't like having to open and close the bag every time I want to baste the turkey. And it will be just as tender with the roaster as it will be in a cooking bag.

Put the turkey in the roaster about 11:00pm and smother it with margarine. Add a little salt and just a little pepper. Set the temperature at 200 degrees and go to bed without having to worry. If you happen to get up during the night, baste the turkey before going back to bed. About 7:00am turn the temperature up to 350 degrees and baste two or three times before the turkey is done. The Thanksgiving turkey will be done in about three hours and it will be so tender it will be falling off the bone. Cooking Thanksgiving turkey in a roaster allows you to use the range, saving time. Happy Thanksgiving!

The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Polycarbonate

The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Polycarbonate-Delicious Cookie Recipes

Polycarbonate, otherwise known as its trademarked name, Lexan, is a group of thermoplastic polymers. They are used very much in the modern chemistry industry because they can be very easy worked and molded into different shapes and they can also be thermoformed. They show great capacities for temperature resistance, impact resistance as well as for optical properties. They are not grouped specifically into one position for their properties but are considered to be somewhere in between the engineering plastics and commodity plastics.

Delicious Cookie Recipes

There are a number of advantages and disadvantages to polycarbonate if they indeed can be labeled as such. The advantages of this material of course are because of its properties. They are being used more for household products now than before because of the quality of goods that they can produce. Manufacturers are designing items not only for the household but for use in laboratories and in industry because of its resistance to temperatures and its ability to be easy shaped. Another advantage is the fact it can be injected into various objects which allows it to be used for discs, bottles, glasses, lenses, audio player cases, and lab equipment.

The unfortunate side to polycarbonate is that because of its chemical makeup and property, it is recommended only for those products that are used once, not repeatedly. Although it has other properties such as resilience and toughness, repeated use of the one object may be potentially hazardous to the health. This is due to the leaching of Bisphenol A which has been shown over time to cause the enlargement of the reproductive organs in female mice. It is also said to be responsible for neural and behavioral changes when given to younger animals. It is not certain how this relates to human life but because of the uncertainty, there are warnings concerning the repeated use of bottles and other products made with polycarbonate.

Chocolate - History Of Nestle Company

Chocolate - History Of Nestle Company

In this article we're going to briefly review the history of one of the largest manufacturers of chocolate in the world, Nestlé.

It was in the 1860s that Henri Nestlé, a pharmacist, developed a food specifically for babies who could not breast feed. He first used this successfully on a premature infant who couldn't tolerate his mother's breast milk. This product saved the child's life and people soon began to see the value of it. Soon, Farine Lactée Henri Nestlé was being sold all over Europe.

In 1905 Nestlé merged with a condensed milk company. By the early 1900s they had factories in the United States, Britain, Germany and Spain. With the outbreak of World War I, there was a great demand for these products. By the end of the war Nestlé's production more than doubled.

Unfortunately, after the war, contracts dried up and the buying public went back to getting fresh milk. In response to this, Nestlé streamlined their operation and reduced their debt. By the 1920s the company had expanded its operation with chocolate being its number two selling product.

Then World War II broke out and Nestlé immediately felt the effects. Their profits dropped from million a year before 1938 to under million a year by 1939. In spite of this, Nestlé began setting up factories in developing countries expecting a turn around by the war's end. Ironically, the war was responsible for Nestlé introducing one of its most popular products, Nescafé instant coffee, which was the number one drink of the United States military.

The end of World War II, just as Nestlé predicted, was the beginning of a great phase of growth for the company. Nestlé acquired many other companies during this time. In 1947 they merged with Maggi, Crosse & Blackwell in 1960, Libbys in 1971 and Stouffers in 1973.

By the mid 1970s, Nestlé's growth in the developing world offset their slowdown in the more developed countries like the United States. By the mid 1980s they had acquired several additional companies, the biggest of which was the American company, Carnation.

After the mid 1990s, because of the breakdown of trade barriers, Nestlé enjoyed what was probably their biggest growth in history. Their acquisitions included the giant company Ralston Purina, which mainly sells pet food.

In spite of Nestlé's diversification, they are and will always be mostly known for their ever popular chocolate bars and drinks such as Nestlé's Crunch Bar, which is now also made into an ice cream bar, Nestlé's Quick, which is a chocolate flavored powder to put in milk, Nestlé's Carnation, another popular chocolate drink, the Kit Kat Bar, Smarties, Nestlé's Maxibon, Nestlé's Extreme and a host of other products, a list that would take days to go through.

In closing, it should be pointed out that a lot of Nestlé's success was a stroke of good luck. It seems that a man named Daniel Peter figured out exactly how to combine milk and cocoa powder. The result was milk chocolate. Well, Peter just happened to be a good friend of Henri Nestlé. Peter started the company, but ultimately Nestlé took it over as was destined to happen.

How to Cook Frozen Crab Legs

How to Cook Frozen Crab Legs

Strictly speaking, you probably won't need to cook those frozen crab legs you purchased at the supermarket or at the discount club store--it has already been done for you. You will just need to heat them up. Make sure you do it properly, though, by following these tips.

You must first thaw the crab legs. Allow them to thaw in your refrigerator overnight; don't make the mistake that many people do of thawing them at room temperature or, even worse, thawing them by zapping in a microwave oven. Thawing at room temperature is a bit risky from a food-safety standpoint , and microwaving can overcook crab legs.

Once the legs are completely thawed, then you can heat them in the microwave--or in a conventional oven. You can also steam or boil them.

Microwaving

Place crab legs in a microwave-safe pan or on a dish. Cover with a couple of thicknesses of paper towels and heat on high for 2 to 3 minutes.

Boiling

Fill a large pot 2/3 full of water. Add several shakes of salt and any other seasoning that you like. Bring water to a boil. Drop crab legs into the boiling water. Immediately reduce heat and let the pot simmer for 4 to 6 minutes.

Steaming

Fill a large saucepan with water and bring to a boil on stove. Place crab legs in a vegetable steamer or a colander and place over the pan. Allow the legs to steam for 4 or 5 minutes.

Heating in an Oven

Heat oven to approximately 420 degrees F. Place crab legs on a baking sheet and place in oven on a top rack. Roast for 4 or 5 minutes.

The best crab legs are king crab legs, but most types of crab sold for food have a good deal of meat in their legs and especially their claws. Sometimes there is more meat in the legs than in the body itself.

Crab legs are made up of three distinct sections. To get at the meat, just break the sections apart at the joints. Then take hold of one of the sections and press it with your thumbs on the flat side until the shell cracks. You should be able now to remove the shell and pull out a good-sized piece of meat. The claws will probably need to be cracked with pliers or with special tools available from kitchen specialty shops.

Cooked crabmeat straight from the legs is delicious by itself, or you can brush it with melted butter before eating. Crab leg meat is also good in any recipe calling for crabmeat generally.

Learn How Homemade Wax Sugar Waxing Recipe Can Help You Achieve Divinely Smooth Legs

Learn How Homemade Wax Sugar Waxing Recipe Can Help You Achieve Divinely Smooth Legs

There are many different homemade wax sugar waxing recipes and methods out there. This recipe is definitely one of the best recipes available because it is so simple to make and the results it achieves are great and most importantly... long lasting.

I've tried every home waxing kit available... I've spent countless hours pulling and applying the wax and ending up with irritated skin and not much to show for. I've tried shaving, and do I have to even mention the tediousness of the daily shaving routine. Sheesh! A friend shared this homemade wax sugar waxing recipe with me. I've tried it and never looked back.

There are many variations of this homemade wax sugar waxing recipe out there. But, I prefer to keep it simple since it has consistently given me such great results.

Homemade wax sugar waxing recipe

You'll need:

2 cups of regular granulated sugar
1/4 cup of water (some people use distilled water, but tap water is just fine
1/4 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice (remove seeds).

Technicalities

A saucepan
A plastic container or jar
Dull knife
Cotton strips (cut out an old t-shirt)
Cooking thermometer.

Preparation

1 Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan.
2 Start with heating the mix up on low temperature, until the bubbles start showing up.
3 Using the thermometer, make sure the mix has reached 250F. When this happens, take it off and pour into the previously prepared container. Let the mix cool down.
4 Make sure the mix has cooled enough so it doesn't burn you.
5 Using the dull knife, spread the mix in the direction of hair growth.
6 Place the cotton strip, press with your fingers a bit and then pull in the direction opposite the hair growth.

To wash off, use warm water and soap, that will do it.

Homemade wax sugar waxing tips

Make sure the hairs are 1/4 inch or so long. If too short, you won't be able to pull them out.

This mix can be reused if you haven't used it all up the first time. Simply keep in the refrigerator and then reheat in the microwave when you want to use it.

Finally, to help pull out the hairs more easily, take a shower beforehand and use a body scrub to remove extra dead skin that sugar might adhere to.

Sperm Taste - 10 Simple Tips For Better Tasting Semen

Sperm Taste - 10 Simple Tips For Better Tasting Semen

Sperm taste is affected by what you eat, as are all secretions from the body.

It is a fact that your sperms taste can be improved and making your semen taste better, can be done with a few simple diet changes.

Diet has A major influence on sperm taste as it's a secretion from the body like any other.

Just as your sweat can smell strongly after eating a heavily spiced meal your sperm will also reflect the spices in its taste.

The make up of sperm

Semen is made up of ninety percent (90%) seminal fluids including fructose (sugar) protein, and various trace minerals and nutrients.

The PH of semen is 7 and scientifically neutral, yet it tastes slightly acidic. Let's take a look at the actual ingredients of semen.

A man's ejaculate is actually only 1% sperm.

The rest is composed of various proteins, vitamins, sugars, salts, cholesterol, and water. All the extras are what protect, feeds, fuels the sperm in its journey.

As you can see in terms of semen's composition, it's fairly obvious that what you eat will make it taste better or worse!

Getting a sweeter taste

With sperm taste, the aim is to make it taste sweeter.

All men have a semen taste that is exclusive to them, but the major complaint on sperm taste is normally always the same:

It tastes bitter or salty; let's look at how to make semen taste sweeter

10 Tips for better semen taste

Here then are 10 simple do's and don'ts to improve the taste of your sperm and make your semen taste better and sweeter:

1. Cut out alcohol, caffeine, recreational drugs and nicotine- they're all pollutants.

2. Drink lots of water 1 - 2 liters a day to flush out body toxins.

3. Fruit get plenty each day and sweeten your sperm taste
Pineapple, papaya cranberry, melons, mangos, apples grapes are all good choices. These fruits are high in natural sugars and offset the bitter taste.

4. Eat plenty of vegetables which are generally good for improving sperm taste.

5. While it is true vegetarians generally have better tasting sperm there are vegetables to avoid:

Any vegetables from the cabbage family big offenders also include Cauliflower, broccoli, or asparagus:

5. Cut red meat consumption this is one pf the main offenders when it comes to making sperm taste salty. Dairy produce such as milk and cheese also make sperm taste salty.
Make sure when you eat protein you get good quality lean protein such as chicken and turkey.

Fish is claimed by some to be an offender in terms of taste, but this seems to vary between individuals. Try it and see the affects before cutting it out, fish is a major part of a healthy diet, so don't cut it out!

6. Avoid heavy spices such as Garlic and onions, they're big offenders when it comes to sperm taste, as they have a high sulfur content.

7. Do not buy products that claim to make your semen taste better there is no evidence that they work.
Your semen can be made to taste better by overall changes in diet and lifestyle, it's a complex formula and a good healthy diet has the biggest affect.

8. Parsley, wheatgrass, and celery are particularly recommended for sweeter semen taste, because of their high chlorophyll content.

9. Cinnamon, cardamom, peppermint and lemon are particularly recommended for making semen taste sweeter.

10. Avoid junk food, they're loaded with chemicals and preservatives that pollute your body and your semen's taste.

Try and eat food "from the earth" i.e. as naturally as possible. Also consider taking a zinc and selenium supplement, both are needed for healthy sperm and can make the taste better.

Finally, strong smelling semen may indicate an infection, so if your semen taste doesn't change when you change your diet, you should consider a visit to the doctor.

Your aim with your diet is to eat one that helps your overall health and the above recommendations will not only make your semen taste better you will also feel fitter and healthier as well.

Keep in mind that you can eat some of the foods we don't recommend for sperm taste.

You can enjoy red meat and the occasional spiced curry just keep in mind the following when considering sperm taste:

What you put into your body takes between 12 and 24 hours to secrete out and you should simply keep this in mind before eating and deciding whether you want a better sperm taste on that particular day or not!

Cream Cheese Buttercream Icing

Cream Cheese Buttercream Icing

There are varieties of cake icing recipes to choose from. If you are someone who loves cake, you will enjoy this cream cheese buttercream recipe. This is one of my favorite cake icing recipes. Cream cheese buttercream icing can be used on a variety of different cakes such as, carrot cake, red velvet cake, a basic vanilla or whatever you decide best fits you personally. It is a very simple recipe that anyone can make. All you need are the right ingredients and you are all set and ready to go. You can use this cream cheese buttercream icing recipe for any occasion. Whether it's a birthday cake, holiday cake or a batch of cupcakes anytime is good. Here are the ingredients and the direction for creating this easy to make cake.

Ingredients:
1 16oz block of cream cheese
1 stick of softened butter
1 tsp. salt
2 to 4 tablespoons milk or cream, as needed
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 bag of confectioner's sugar

Directions:
Step number one: Place the softened butter and cream cheese into a large mixing bowl. Blend it with an electric mixer on low-speed until it is fluffy or has peaks. This may take about thirty seconds.

Step number two: Add vanilla salt and milk or cream to the mixture and blend well until it is completely incorporated.

Step number three: Stop the machine and begin adding one cup of confectioner's sugar at a time and blend until sugar is completely incorporated with the cream cheese and butter. Increase blender speed as icing thickens. If the icing is too thick, add milk or cream to thin it out a little. The icing should be thin enough to spread on cake smoothly, but not runny.

After baking your cake or cupcakes, let the cake cool first before adding the icing. This icing will store in the refrigerator for about four or five days. You can store this icing up to several months in the freezer. If you keep it in the freezer, make sure you double bag it in two zip lock bags to keep the freezer taste out. Also, to thaw out the icing simply place in a room temperature environment for an hour or two and it should be ready to use.

I have tried many different variations of buttercream icings from chocolate, strawberry to banana. I am a true butter cream icing lover and cream cheese frosting is absolutely one of my favorites.

Cuban Women - How to Taste the Forbidden Fruit of International Dating

Cuban Women - How to Taste the Forbidden Fruit of International Dating

Cuba is an island nation wrapped around rumors, intrigue and the hypnotic pull of a forbidden paradise. The U.S. embargo may have been disastrous on Cuba's economy but it created a vacuum.

Time has stood still in this tiny country of enormous spirit. The values, traditions and family centered-ness of the Cuban people are exactly those, most of us long for in today's "modern" world. Family is the focus; love, care and affection run wild and grow everywhere. The unity created from despair has given birth to a unique woman.

The Cuban woman is born on a tropical island with its sensual rhythms, the push and pull of the ocean and caressing Caribbean breezes. Sexiness is as natural to her as breathing. And because of the economic conditions, she has learned to be intelligent, resourceful, appreciative of what really matters and graceful in all she does.

The women of Cuba have become known (by those in the know) to be the most succulent, sought after angels on planet Earth. These women make the perfect companion, friend, lover, mother and wife.

A "Cubanita" as women from Cuba are known, is a savage in the bedroom, or wherever else she takes you to feed her carnal appetite. She is a pristine lady in public, a chef of the highest caliber in the kitchen. A tour de force in her chosen profession and an intoxicating mate at all times. In essence, the vacuum created in Cuba has bred what some may consider to be the ideal woman.

However, the problem for many men has been how to meet and date these exotic creatures.

The Big Challenge

The big challenge is not where to find Cuban women. After all the grand majority of them are all living in the same 110,860 sq km island 90km off the southern most tip of Florida.

The challenge in meeting these women has been a question of how to get right up next to them.

For men from the U.S. the idea of going to Cuba represents a Federal Offense. For men from other countries such as Canada and Australia it is a voyage to a strange, unknown place the media has made out to be an active war zone.

But why should any government or media hype keep you from finding the woman of your dreams? With today's advances in technology there is little reason to let them.

Tasting The Forbidden Fruit

Internet access is growing in Cuba, although sometimes via underground means. The spreading of awareness and availability of the online world has led to new a trend in Cuba. Cuban women are now putting up profiles in dating and social networking sites on a daily basis.

You can go to several paid dating sites or free sites such as Facebook and Twitter and find Cuban woman already there. While the number of "Cubanitas" online is not as high as the number of other Latinas, such as Dominican women, Colombian women or Costa Rican women ("Ticas") online, the quality of the Cuban women with online profiles is second to none!

The first step towards getting yourself all tangled up with one or several of these delicious delights is to get online, set up your own profile and start chatting with the Cuban girls on the sites. Most of these women are career orientated and/or currently studying at the university level.

Cubans can get e-mail accounts in most government post offices; this makes communication even easier once you have met a few ladies on line. Additionally cell phone use, particularly cell phones with chat and text capabilities is also growing in Cuba. Once you start making friends with Cuban women online staying in touch is simple, not like in times past when a call to Cuba was a huge deal.

The next step is setting up actual dates. To do this you must plan a trip. And here you have a few choices.

Contrary to popular belief, Cuban's can get travel visas. They just can't get travel visas to countries like the U.S. with any form of ease. But you will find Cuban women who already have travel visas and can visit countries such as Venezuela, Russia and Dominican Republic.

If you are not willing to travel to Cuba you can carefully arrange to meet a special lady friend in a country where she can travel. However the best thing is really for you to go there.

With new regulation being introduced in the U.S. if you are of Cuban descent getting permission to visit Cuba is a reality now. You can go to Cuba, find the woman you want to marry and bring her to the U.S. with a fiancée visa.

If you don't live in the U.S. then you have every reason and opportunity to get on a plane and start dating face-to-face the sizzling "Cubanitas" you meet online.

If you live in the U.S. and are not of Cuban descent getting to the forbidden island nation will be more difficult. You could apply under a humanitarian visa. There are also reports of U.S. citizens who visit Cuba illegally (illegal in the U.S. not Cuba) by first flying to a country such as Mexico. From there they will take a second flight into Cuba. Because Cuba does not stamp their passport there is no evidence of them having entered the country.

At the end of the day, if you meet Cuban women online you will be filled with the courage and sense of purpose required to actually visit with them, hold them, hug them and kiss them.

Love beyond your borders is waiting; all it takes is a little bit of commitment on your part and a few mouse clicks. May you find the love life you most desire and may nothing hold you back from doing so.

Delicious Old Fashion Recipe For Cream Cheese Pineapple Pie

Delicious Old Fashion Recipe For Cream Cheese Pineapple Pie

As soon as I posted this recipe on my vintage web site I started getting messages from readers about how they had enjoyed this pie years ago and couldn't find the recipe. I wanted to share it with readers now in case they want to make this pie for any of their holiday celebrations. Maybe this recipe will take you back in time, too.

CREAM CHEESE PINEAPPLE PIE
This is a recipe from an old cookbook from the Northeastern United States.

1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust

Fruit Layer:

1/3 cup sugar
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 (8-oz) can crushed pineapple with its own juice

In a small saucepan, combine the sugar, cornstarch, and pineapple (do not drain). Cook the mixture over medium heat while stirring constantly until the mixture is thick and clear. Set aside and allow to cool.

When cooled, spread the mixture over the bottom of the unbaked pie crust.

Cream Cheese Layer:

1 pkg (8-oz) cream cheese, softened to room temperature
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup chopped pecans

Blend the cream cheese, sugar, and salt together in a mixer bowl. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating after each one. Blend in the milk and vanilla. (It is okay if the mixture looks curdled.) Pour the mixture over the pineapple layer in the crust. Sprinkle the chopped pecans over all. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Lower the temperature to 325 degrees and bake for 50 minutes. Cool before cutting.

Enjoy!

Cake and Cookie Decorating For Women - The Time For Change is Now

Cake and Cookie Decorating For Women - The Time For Change is Now

Are you constantly looking through your cake and decorated sugar cookie decorating books to find new designs to use for the special women in your life? Do you want to keep up with the latest trends in fashion food art but have limited funds? I have a solution that will change to the world of cake and cookie decorating for women.

Women's fashion designs change every year, and so it's hard to keep up with these trends in the sugar world. It takes some books up to 2 years to get published, and self-publishing is faster, but does not solve the problem of time as some authors choose to focus on a variety of subjects instead of just fashion food art.

Right now there are thousands of cake and cookie decorating books on the market that feature some wardrobe-inspired treats, but only one that takes you into the closet to dream in sugar. This book is revolutionary in its vision to give its audience access to even more designs for free. It's like winning the lottery for home bakers and cake decorators.

Both buttercream and fondant cakes are featured as dresses, purses, hats, boot and other cakes. Fondant-covered sugar cookies are pictured in groups with more than one design of each. All of these designs are easy to make with simple to follow instructions. The author even shows you how to make a woman's high heel chocolate shoe.

This book is your key to access even more design ideas. Pictures of dresses, shoes, purses, hats, pants, boots, belts and any other wardrobe-inspired cakes or cookies that the author dreams up now and into the future. This is good, however, when you add how to instructions, it's a bonus that will pay you dividends repeatedly into the future as you learn and grow as a home baker or cake decorator.

What would this be worth to you? A lot in terms of time and money saved. It would be heaven on earth for cake and cookie decorators on limited budgets. You could look at tools being used several different ways before making a decision to purchase them.

You might ask, "What's the catch?" and I would say that this special bonus comes directly from the author. No one else offers it. Why? The author is out to share her talent with others and change the world of cake and cookie decorating for women.

Home bakers and cake/cookie decorators are already searching the Internet for new designs. Most pictures they find do not come with instructions, and they have to figure out through trial and error how to re-create them at home. It's time to change that and make it easier for all of us to help each other. We can save the environment. Online access gives you what you want when you want it, and the ability to view it on your computer or print only what you need at the time.

The time is now. Be part of the change.

Making a Delicious St Clements Drink

Making a Delicious St Clements Drink

Make the basic St Clements Drink

Half a cup of lemon juice freshly squeezed

Half a cup of Orange juice - from the shops is fine

Five or Six cups of water

Three quarters of a cup of sugar

Instructions

The key to this recipe is making a syrup.

Take 1 cup of water, and the sugar, and mix together in a saucepan. Cook over a low heat, melting the sugar into the water, and stirring occasionally. When it looks like the sugar has all melted, touch the bottom of the pan with a spoon. Well, if it worked properly, it should not feel grainy on the bottom.

Once you have the syrup you are nearly all there. Take it off the heat, and quickly put in a cup of water, to cool it down so that when you add the fruit juices it doesn't kill the vitamin C.

Then quickly add the fruit juices, and the rest of the water. Stir it it.

Making it into a sparking St Clements drink

It is simple to make this into a sparking St Clements drink. All you need to do is replace 4 of the cups of water with soda water. You don't really want to cook soda water, due to health concerns, so you make the syrup with normal water.

Cool the syrup for five minutes in a fridge, and then add the rest of the soda water and lemon juice.

Making it St Clements with a twist.

Take one cup of water out of the ingredients, and make it into ice cubes. Crush the ice in a blender. This will make a delightfully slushy drink. I think this works extra well if you use the sparkling ice St Clements recipe.

An extra presentational angle is to serve it in a frozen glass. To make a frozen glass, damp it in water under the tap, and put it in the freezer until the water freezes. The glass will often gain a pattern that makes it look really amazing. You can put a slice of lemon or orange on the edge of the glass.

When you are ready to serve, mix the crushed ice into the St Clements drink, pour it into the frozen glass, and immediately give it to your guests. Even the traditional recipe will give your guests a real treat, but the St Clements with a twist recipe is delightful.

Nachos - Delicious Homemade Nachos Recipe

Nachos - Delicious Homemade Nachos Recipe

Nachos are triangles of tortilla that have been deep fried until crispy and topped with a variety of spicy tomato and pepper mixture and grated cheese (to brown either under the grill or in the oven).

This nachos recipe makes 30 servings. Please adjust ingredients to the number of guests.

Ingredients

5 tortillas
1 jar tomato salsa dip
Oil (preferably olive oil)
1 red bell pepper
4 spring onions
4 fresh and ripe tomatoes
1 tin re-fried beans
200 grams mature cheddar cheese or desired cheese
3 tablespoon Parmesan cheese (grated)
Cilantro leaves, chopped

Optional - 1 jar of red jalapenos and 1 jar of green jalapenos

Preparation

Stack the tortillas neatly and cut in half with a sharp knife, then cut each half into 3 wedges to give 6 nachos from each tortilla.

Heat about 2.5cm (1 inch) oil in a frying pan until just smoking. Fry the pieces of tortilla, only a few at a time, until they are crispy and browned (just lightly). Turn them once as you fry them. Remove from the frying pan and leave to drain any excess of oil. Now, transfer them to a baking sheet as we are going to place them in the oven.

Place the red pepper into a grill pan and grill until the skin is slightly burnt. When done, leave to cool (careful, peppers can get very hot!) and peel off the skin. Chop the pepper into small squares.

Mix the chopped pepper with the salsa, spring onions and the ripe tomatoes.

Mash the re-fried beans and spread it over the nachos as if it was butter. Top the spread with the tomato mixture.

Now is the time to sprinkle each nacho with the grated cheese (both Cheddar and Parmesan) and place them under a preheated oven, not too hot. When the cheese starts to bubbles and it browns slightly remove the nachos from the oven. Alternatively, you can place the baking tray with the nachos in a preheated oven at gas mark 6 for around 12 minutes (or until the cheese starts to bubble).

Nachos can be served hot or cold, they are a fantastic appetizer. Sprinkle with the chopped coriander, it adds a great final touch.

If desired, add the green and red jalapenos over the nachos but do serve them in separate dishes as some people will not want the hot chilies.

This is a great nachos recipe, easy to make and always very successful with your guests!

Lactose Free Desserts: Delicious Alternatives for Lactose Intolerant Individuals

Lactose Free Desserts: Delicious Alternatives for Lactose Intolerant Individuals

Lactose intolerance is one of the most common reasons why people complain of physical discomforts. Although it is mainly a digestive problem, it can cause discomforting symptoms that seem to affect a person's entire system. In worse cases, it may even affect one's day-to-day activities.

Lactose intolerance is the condition wherein a person is unable to digest the sugar lactose. This is due to the lack of lactase enzyme which is produced by the cells of the intestinal lining. Basically, if lactose is undigested, it will ferment in the intestines and trigger various symptoms that are associated with lactose intolerance. Some of the common symptoms include stomach cramps, bloating, excessive gas, constipation, nausea and diarrhea. The severity of the symptoms differs from one person to another, however.

Being lactose intolerant poses various limitations to a person particularly in his or her diet, especially those who have the tendency to experience severe symptoms. Basically, they should eliminate the intake of foods that contain lactose - not just milk - in order to avoid experiencing the symptoms. Although some can tolerate little amounts of lactose in their system, they still cannot risk taking lactose-enriched foods and products - an idea that may make life a little less sweet.

Desserts are just some of the things that most lactose intolerant individuals cannot tolerate - or wouldn't risk trying to handle. But thankfully, there are more than a handful of lactose-free dessert recipes out there that you just have to research, explore and learn about. Lactose-free dessert recipes are simple or complex, fresh or frozen. You can create shakes and smoothies, cookies and cake or even ice cream. If you know your body well and you know which foods are considered friends by your digestive system, you can mix and match ingredients to come up with great desserts without minding about lactose intolerance symptoms. Below are very simple lactose-free dessert recipes that you can start out with.

Chocolate Almond Milk Shake

This one can be done easily. Just get chocolate flavored almond milk or mix chocolate with almond milk. Blend with ice until desired texture is achieved. You can add some amount of vanilla or cinnamon for more flavor.

Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients:

1 cup peanut butter

1 cup sugar

1 egg

Procedure:

Mix the ingredients together. Drop a tablespoon of the mixture at a time on the cookie sheet. In an oven preheated to 325 degrees, bake the cookie mixture for 8 to 12 minutes. You may flatten the mixture or leave it with the drop form. After baking, store it in a properly sealed container.

Moreover, you can actually use regular dessert recipes. All you need to do is substitute the dairy ingredient with a non-dairy or one that is lactose-free or lactose-reduced. For instance, if the recipe requires the use of milk, get either lactose-free milk or milk substitutes such as almond milk or soy milk.
