Lactose intolerance is the condition wherein a person is unable to digest the sugar lactose. This is due to the lack of lactase enzyme which is produced by the cells of the intestinal lining. If you know your body well and you know which foods are considered friends by your digestive system, you can mix and match ingredients to come up with great desserts without minding about lactose intolerance symptoms. Below are very simple lactose-free dessert recipes that you can start out with. Chocolate Almond Milk Shake This one can be done easily. Just get chocolate flavored almond milk or mix chocolate with almond milk. Blend with ice until desired texture is achieved. You can add some amount of vanilla or cinnamon for more flavor. Peanut Butter Cookies Ingredients: 1 cup peanut butter 1 cup sugar 1 egg Procedure: Mix the ingredients together. Drop a tablespoon of the mixture at a time on the cookie sheet. In an oven preheated to 325 degrees, bake the cookie mixture for 8 to 12 minutes. You may flatten the mixture or leave it with the drop form. After baking, store it in a properly sealed container. Moreover, you can actually use regular dessert recipes. All you need to do is substitute the dairy ingredient with a non-dairy or one that is lactose-free or lactose-reduced.
