| Cake and Cookie Decorating For Women - The Time For Change is Now
Are you constantly looking through your cake and decorated sugar cookie decorating books to find new designs to use for the special women in your life? Do you want to keep up with the latest trends in fashion food art but have limited funds? I have a solution that will change to the world of cake and cookie decorating for women. |
|
Women's fashion designs change every year, and so it's hard to keep up with these trends in the sugar world. It takes some books up to 2 years to get published, and self-publishing is faster, but does not solve the problem of time as some authors choose to focus on a variety of subjects instead of just fashion food art. Right now there are thousands of cake and cookie decorating books on the market that feature some wardrobe-inspired treats, but only one that takes you into the closet to dream in sugar. This book is revolutionary in its vision to give its audience access to even more designs for free. It's like winning the lottery for home bakers and cake decorators. Both buttercream and fondant cakes are featured as dresses, purses, hats, boot and other cakes. Fondant-covered sugar cookies are pictured in groups with more than one design of each. All of these designs are easy to make with simple to follow instructions. The author even shows you how to make a woman's high heel chocolate shoe. This book is your key to access even more design ideas. Pictures of dresses, shoes, purses, hats, pants, boots, belts and any other wardrobe-inspired cakes or cookies that the author dreams up now and into the future. This is good, however, when you add how to instructions, it's a bonus that will pay you dividends repeatedly into the future as you learn and grow as a home baker or cake decorator. What would this be worth to you? A lot in terms of time and money saved. It would be heaven on earth for cake and cookie decorators on limited budgets. You could look at tools being used several different ways before making a decision to purchase them. You might ask, "What's the catch?" and I would say that this special bonus comes directly from the author. No one else offers it. Why? The author is out to share her talent with others and change the world of cake and cookie decorating for women. Home bakers and cake/cookie decorators are already searching the Internet for new designs. Most pictures they find do not come with instructions, and they have to figure out through trial and error how to re-create them at home. It's time to change that and make it easier for all of us to help each other. We can save the environment. Online access gives you what you want when you want it, and the ability to view it on your computer or print only what you need at the time. The time is now. Be part of the change. As the term suggests, gourmet cookie recipes entail doing something different with the usual recipes people make. The term gourmet is mostly used to high quality cuisine or foods that are prepared with exquisite care or with a unique presentation. For anyone who wants to bake gourmet cookies, one should be more resourceful and creative so as to distinguish them from the more commonly baked treats such as chocolate chip cookies. Baking can be quite a delightful surprise if one decides to be a little creative and different with what they want to create. Varieties of Cookie Jars
Any outsider would think this to be crazy, but only the people who have grown up eating those special cookies cooked by grandma would appreciate the real value of that glimpse of a cookie jar. It is almost magical - the effect that brings water to your mouths like in the case of that classical conditioning experiment with the dog. It seems like a lot of Americans especially and other kids around the world have had this special experience with cookies which has till today the cookie jar industries. Some of the most amazing products are seen below:
- Company name: Vandor
- Jar Specialty: Musicians, especially pop like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Betty Boop etc. Later also joined by other famous celebrities like Marilyn Monroe, Scooby doo, Uncle Sam etc.
- Company name: Quaker Oats
- Jar Specialty: Commonly found boxes in market, Aunt Jemina etc.
- Company name: McCoy
- Jar Specialty: Marilyn Monroe, Marvin Martian, Maxine Series, M and M etc.
- Company name: Nightmare Before Christmas
- Jar Specialty: NBC Peacock, Nestle Bear, Nabisco etc.
- Company name: Keebler
- Jar Specialty: Little Red Riding Hood
Here we can see the great influence of American tradition, myths, stories, legends and even pop culture clearly visible on the cookie jars. It is like an untold story. These treasured items even today remain a very impressive antique collection. Like the collection of Andy Warhol that was sold for 0,000.
Other items listed in the most valued list may include Superman, Batman, James Dean, Felix the Cat, The Three Stooges, Amazing Grace, Ragtime, Jazz Player, Babe Ruth, Animals, basketball, American Bisque, Animal Crackers, Brush Pottery Jars, Coca Cola, Easter, Entertainment Logos, Encore's Buddies, Flying saucer, Flamingo, Frog, Football, Foo God, Ghosts, Grant Howard, Halloween, Hearts, Howdy Doody, IGA Circus, Hopalong Casidy, Leprechauns, Mickey Mouse, People, Penguins, Planet Hollywood, Sports themes and so many more.
The awesome variety of designs and ideas is just staggering. Nothing more beautiful could be imagined than what the artists inspired from. This whole collection stares right back at you with all the historic themes and stories that come with it. Imagine if you are looking at an ancient inscription on an old cave's walls. What would you have seen? Their stories, their lives were written on those walls. How they dressed, how they played, how they danced and how they loved is all brought to us by their paintings. There are no words involved as words leave far lesser to your imagination.
The cookie jar undoubtedly are one of these remains of the earlier times when we set on our paths of economic progress, learnt our heavy lessons from the world wars and economic turmoil. They will tell the future generations about the themes and decorations of our lives. When a kid born in 2020 will eat his favorite cookie from a jar carved with Mickey Mouse and Elvis Presley, will he not wonder who these famous personalities are? Perhaps this is our way of writing our stories.

Fun Cookie Baking Ideas
If you or your family are bored with eating the same cookies why not try something a slight different? Say goodbye to your Oatmeal and raisin or Chocolate Chip, not that I could ever give up the latter completely, and be a bit more inventive.
I am however, open to all suggestions and am willing to experiment with different flavors. If you don't try you never know, that's my motto in the kitchen.
Delicious Cookie
There are a few new cookies which I've tried lately, and I'm so glad that I did. Here are a few of the ones I made that were beyond doubt tasty and will undoubtedly be on my list from now on when baking day comes around.
The first new way I tried was to make my cookies from a cake mixture. They are beyond doubt tasty, and you even get the authentic cracks in the cookies. The charm of this is the range of flavors you can buy a cake mix in.
The next one I tried was using dough made from peanut butter. You can make this yourself or buy it ready made. When you take the cookies from the oven create a space inside each cookie and pop in a peanut butter cup, get the picture?
If you prefer your chocolate to be white rather than brown, then a great blend for cookies is white chocolate with cranberry. The two flavors blend together within the cookie to create a taste sensation. These have proved to be very favorite and I'm being asked now to make them for people.
My last recommendation for today is to get your cookie dough and throw in some butter toffee, chocolate chips and cherry. Very sweet and delicious, these will soon become a firm favorite in your household.
The great thing about baking cookies is that there are no rules. You may have some great ideas yourself, don't keep them as ideas, give them a go. Try some of my ideas with some of your own, you should enjoy both production and eating cookies.
Fun Cookie Baking Ideaswee Gram's Chocolate Chip Cookie method - The greatest of All Cookies
I love cookies. I love everything about cookies. I love the shape and the smell and the taste of cookies. I've eaten all kinds of cookies - store bought cookies, Christmas cookies, categorically Big cookies, and cookies I baked myself. None, however, can collate to my miniature Gram's Chocolate Chip Cookies - the many of all cookies.
These cookies are made with chocolate chips, crushed peanuts, brown sugar, shortening, flour, baking soda, and four eggs. All these ingredients are mixed together, molded into about 60 raw cookies, and baked at 400 degrees for thirteen minutes. Believe it or not, this simple method makes the perfect chocolate chip cookie. They're almost a food group.
Cookie Recipes
To properly eat this circular blob of perfection, I perform the "Ritual of the perfect Cookie." First, I get a large glass of milk. Then, I take the red, slightly dented cookie-filled tin and gently remove the lid. Inside lay the high-priced delights. I look for the best one to eat first; its about an inch in diameter and speckled with chocolate chips and peanut chunks. Smiling, I baptize it in the milk and swallow it whole. I ultimately consume as many as my mortal body can hold. This is my ritual for eating my miniature Gram's Chocolate Chip Cookies.
When I am eating her cookies I taste sensations that I never dreamed possible. Waves of deliciousness orally enter me, spreading rapidly through my body, and I taste a burst of vigor unknown to most humans. I feel as if I have a perfect body, perfect vision, and even perfect spelling. I am mentally and physically a good person, at one with the world. And that is after only one cookie!
It sounds as if I am exaggerating, and maybe I am...just a little, but my miniature Gram's are the best darn cookie I've ever eaten. One ingredient of the cookie I failed to mention is also the most important: love. My great grandma's love gives the cookies shape, taste, character, and that's why miniature Gram's Chocolate Chip Cookies - are the many of all cookies.

If you are doing smaller cookies, remember that baking time also goes down. Many ovens yield heat from the bottom, and so as not to burn the bottom of the cookies, I simply duplicate pan them before baking.

Cookie formula Using Quinoa Flour
Why do bakers and homemakers alike love using quinoa flour? Well plainly because it adds chewiness and nutty flavor to baked goodies and for some reason, the end product seems to be literally moist. Now don't you love that as well? I do!
What I love about quinoa is its high-protein content and because of its gained popularity, people have come up with thousands of yummy recipes and quinoa-derived products like cereal and flour. It can whether be made from milled or unmilled grains and the color is normally creamy yellow or ivory. Quinoa is gluten-free so this is perfect for people with gluten intolerance. If you are purchasing processed quinoa products make sure it has the "gluten-free" markings otherwise it can be contaminated.
Cookie Recipes
I like the quinoa crispy cookies and for this recipe you will need:
1 cup quinoa flour
¾ cup quinoa flakes
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup honey
½ cup butter
½ cup almond butter
½ tsp vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup chopped walnuts/pecans (or any nut that you prefer)
Mix together honey, brown sugar, butter, nut butter and vanilla. Make sure it turns out to be creamy. In a cut off bowl, merge quinoa flour, quinoa flakes and baking soda. Add the dry mixture to the cream mixture and beat until all is well blended. Add nuts and drop rounded teaspoons of the cookie mixture about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake it for 12-15 minutes at 350 degrees F. Let the cookies cool for at least 2 minutes before removing them from the sheet. Makes about 3 dozen small cookies. Enjoy!

So here we go for some macroon cookie recipes:
Delicious Cookie
>>Sliced Almond Cookie
1 c sliced almonds chocolate bits; for topping
1 egg whites
1/3 c sugar
Preheat the oven to 300. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Stir together the egg white and sugar (I don't even use a mixer) and then stir in the almonds. Drop by teaspoon (they shouldn't be more than
2 inches in diameter) and top with a chocolate chip. Bake about 20 minutes until lightly browned. When you remove from the oven mash down the chocolate bit (it makes it look like a dab of icing) and let it cool before removing from sheet.
I use the same ingredients in the food processor and make balls out of the dough just over an inch in diameter. I flatten them slightly by pushing down drained maraschino cherry on top. I regularly do double the recipe. I make these all year because they're so easy to make, every person loves them and they are good for pesach.

Macroon Cookie RecipesEasy Sugar Cookie Recipes: From tasty Drop Cookies To Fun, Tasty Cut-Outs
If you're in the mood for something sweet, there are a lot of easy sugar cookie recipes to select from. But sugar cookies come in all sorts of dissimilar shapes and sizes. They can be as simple as drop cookies, a spoonful of dough dropped onto a cookie sheet, or as illustrate as determined cut-out cookies decorated with pretty, colorful icing.
So which one of those easy sugar cookie recipes should you pick? Which one will give you the best results for the type of sugar cookie you're trying to make?
Delicious Cookie
The truth is, most easy sugar cookie recipes use the same basic list of ingredients, with maybe an added spice here or there. What it absolutely comes down to are the quantities of each ingredients, and how you treat the dough.
Each ingredient in a sugar cookie has a exact role, and tweaking its quantity will give you a slightly dissimilar cookie. So what goes in a sugar cookie?
Flour. Flour gives the cookie its structure. When you mix flour in liquids, it forms tough strands of gluten. The more you mix it, and the more flour you add, the tougher a cookie you get. Butter. Butter doesn't just add flavor. It also helps the cookie stay more tender by preventing too much gluten from forming. It also lets the cookie spread out more. Sugar. Sugar helps the cookies be more fluffy by trapping air inside the butter when you cream it. Also, if you don't cream it enough, the undissolved sugar will make the cookie spread out more. Eggs. The yolks help make a more tender cookie, and the whites help give it structure. They also add some moisture. Baking powder. Baking powder helps the cookie rise. Baking soda. Baking soda makes the cookies brown faster, and makes the cookie more tender. Vanilla. Vanilla is just there for flavor, but it absolutely does make all the difference. Salt. Like vanilla, the salt is just there for flavor, although it can toughen the cookie, too.
But it's not just the ingredients that matter in easy sugar cookie recipes. How you handle the dough will affect what kind of cookie you get.
The longer you cream the butter and sugar, the fluffier a cookie you'll get. It also won't spread as much, excellent to help cut out cookies keep their shape. The longer you mix the flour with the wet ingredients, the tougher a cookie you'll get. If you're finding for something fluffy, avoid over-mixing. If you want to roll out the dough, you'll need to refrigerate it until it's firm adequate to work with. You can also refrigerate the raw cookies once they're shaped. It helps them keep their shape in the oven.
When you're baking, it's all the time a good idea to start with a recipe. But once you have a decent recipe, you can tweak it to suit your tastes and purposes, and make your own easy sugar cookie recipes.

Tips for the Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie
There's nothing better than eating a pile of chocolate chip cookies while drinking a tall glass of ice cold milk. Whether you are a kid or an adult, this time- tested recipe should bring a smile to your face and perhaps make you emit a contented sigh. Oh yes, we all know how to eat those little pieces of heaven, but how exactly do you make them?
Here are some tips to help you:
Delicious Cookie
1) Use the freshest ingredients - This will definitely help you make sure that your cookies are of the premium grade. Remember that old computer principle "Garbage in, Garbage Out"? Well, that works with cookies, too. Despite how well you bake an item, if it's made of crappy ingredients, it won't turn out well.
2) Experiment - Although you might think that your grandma's recipe is the best, you should definitely try to create your own variation of the cookie recipe. The most basic thing you can do is to change the amount of chocolate you put in. Remember that this affects not only the taste, but the texture of the cookie as well. Nestlé's research once showed that people felt that the ideal cookie had to have sic to ten chocolate chips. Only a few people actually wanted more.
Another thing you can do is play around with different types of chocolate. Sure, it would be most convenient for you to use those pre-packaged chocolate chips, but in order to come up with the perfect cookie recipe, you have to live a little and do some hard work. Try chopping up a chocolate bar into chunks. You could also try to use candy-covered chocolate like M&M's to top your cookies.
You should also experiment with other ingredients. Changing around the quantity of shortening, the butter and the shortening can affect the texture of the cookie. You should know that people have different tastes when it comes to the cookie's texture. There are those who like it moist and soft while other like it dry and hard, providing great contrast with the milk and chocolate.
3) Storage - Chocolate has an unbelievably long shelf life. Milk chocolate can actually be stored for about six months, while dark chocolate can be stored for as long as a year. If you intend to store chocolate for your baking needs, you need to make sure that you follow the right procedure.
Store them in sealed containers so as to prevent moisture from seeping through and develop the whitish film called "bloom" on the surface. Although this film is harmless, it can be quite unattractive. You also shouldn't expose your chocolate to hot temperatures. Although freezing is okay if you plan to bake with it, you shouldn't expose it to temperatures above 78 degrees as this may cause it to melt.
You might think that there's vary little difference between melted and solid chocolate if used for baking especially since you can just freeze it and it will turn solid again. However, you should realize that melting actually causes the cocoa butter to separate and your chocolate will lose some of its creaminess.
4) To nut or not to nut - Nuts can be quite controversial in baking a cookie. There are people who swear that nuts make all the difference in their baking while there are those who just hate it. Actually, most Americans prefer their cookies without nuts. This is primarily because of the texture.
If you want the nutty flavor without the texture, you should try grinding some nuts into the mixture instead of adding whole or chopped ones.
5) Burn, baby, burn - A burnt cookie is an inedible cookie. Although the best way to avoid burning your cookies is to maintain constant vigilance, there are a few other steps you should try out. First you should make use of a shiny baking pan. This will help prevent burning. You should also know that when you make use of thin pans, the cookies are likely to burn.
Another thing you should do is make use of only the top and middle racks of the oven. This will help you make sure that the chocolate chip cookies burn evenly and that none are exposed to too high temperatures.

Different Types of Cookie Sheets Yield Different Tasting Cookies
Anybody who takes the time to make cookies from scratch obviously wants them to come out perfectly and taste delicious. Mixing ingredients is almost unheard of these days with just about everything being available in pre-mixed or pre-made packages. Most people simply buy a roll of cookie dough, slice it, and stick it in the oven for 15-18 minutes. However, for the individuals out there who still take the time to make their own cookie dough, it's important to know the differences between all the types of sheets available in stores today. There are a multitude of them, and believe it or not, they all yield different results.
Insulated Non-stick Sheet
Delicious Cookie Recipes
Most insulated sheets are made to be non-stick, and because insulated sheets are sometimes on the more expensive side, they tend to resist scratches, chipping, and peeling. Insulated cookie sheets are basically two sheets that have been connected around the edges, which creates a small pocket of air that cannot escape. The air inside of the pocket heats to the set temperature of the oven when the sheet is placed inside.
Insulated cookie sheets are very reliable for evenly baked cookies. Because the air inside the sheet heats to the temperature of the oven, it allows all the cookies on the sheet to cook and brown at the same rate. The evenly heated air prevents the sheet from being hotter in certain spots, which is a common occurrence with regular sheets. In addition to yummy cookies, most insulated sheets are easy to clean because of their non-stick surfaces.
Aluminum
Aluminum cookie sheets are very commonly used. Aluminum conducts heat well which is why cookie sheets made of this material usually produce an evenly baked cookie. The only down side to aluminum is that it sometimes prevents cookies from reaching the perfect shade of brown.
Cookie sheets made of aluminum are very sturdy and they won't rust even if they have to be soaked in water for and extended period of time. Heavy aluminum baking sheets are better to use than the thin types that are available for less money. Thin aluminum sheets can bend and/or warp in a hot oven which can cause cookies to cook unevenly.
Non-Stick Cookie Sheets
When non-stick cookie sheets were invented, a whole new world of baking emerged. The ease of cleaning a cookie sheet with a non-stick surface is amazing, and it practically eliminates the need to butter the sheet before cooking. Washing a non-stick sheet is a breeze and hardly requires anything but a quick scrub.
Non-stick sheets have a surface coating that makes them easy to clean, yet they are still able to produce delicious cookies. Keep in mind that the darker the non-stick surface, the quicker the cookies will brown. Therefore, it's important to read the instructions that come with the sheet to find out if the manufacturer recommends that the oven's cooking temperature be lowered to compensate. It may be necessary to lower the temperature of the oven by about 25 degrees.
In conclusion, cookie sheets can be made of a number of different types of materials, or even a combination of materials. Every sheet will yield a different end result for the same exact cookie recipe. The darker the sheet, the faster the cookies will brown because a dark sheet absorbs heat more readily and transfers the heat directly to the cookies. Aluminum cookie sheets are good conductors of heat but are not good for ensuring that the cookies will brown. Insulated cookie sheets will ensure evenly baked cookies no matter how they are spaced on the sheet. For best results, try out a cookie recipe on all three types of sheets and determine which yields the desired results.

Take A New Look At Sugar Cookie Recipes
The only kind of recipe that may be more common than peanut butter is sugar cookie recipes. Sugar cookies are the ultimate "simple sweet," without much flavor of their own other than the sugar and a light, pleasing texture that makes it possible to munch them by the handful.
During holiday time, when everyone's cookie factories crank up in their home kitchens, sugar cookies are turned out by the tens of dozens. Because the dough is so simple to make, large batches are usually prepared at once and kept refrigerated until it's time to dish them onto the baking sheet. Some people even make the dough weeks ahead of time and freeze it until it's time to bake, although the results from that can be mixed.
Delicious Cookie
This year, before holiday time, do a little experimenting. Sugar cookie dough is cheap to make, so you won't be risking any major investment doing so.
First off, try some flavorings. Almond extract is a great flavor to try, just a teaspoon or so per batch. For an extra special touch, place a slice of almond on top of each cookie right when they come out of the oven, while the top of the cookie is still hot and a little bit sticky.
Vanilla is a classic flavor, as is lemon. In fact, many sugar cookie recipes have lemon or vanilla extracts already listed as ingredients. For a change of pace, try amaretto, peppermint or any other extract you'd like to explore. The only limit is your imagination.
Add-ins are another great way to explore. Be careful here, though. Sugar cookie dough isn't as durable as chocolate chip cookie dough, so you can't cram in quite the volume of extras you would normally. But that's fine, as you want the flavor of the cookie to come through with your addition. Try chopping up dried or candied fruits to add flavor and color. A little ground or chopped almond, pecan or walnut is also a great choice. Again, your options are as varied as your creativity can make them. Don't be afraid to explore!

Snickerdoodle Cookie Recipe - How to Make Snickerdoodles Without Cream of Tartar
Cream of tartar is an age old ingredient, found in just about any Snickerdoodle recipe. The common household baker rarely knows what cream of tartar is, let alone has this acidic based salt in their spice cupboard. Suffice it to say you can still enjoy delicious Snickerdoodles even though you may not have any on hand. You may even find you like the end results better with a simple common substitution.
Cream of tartar is commonly used in conjunction with baking soda when making Snickerdoodle cookies. Baking soda is the leavening agent while cream of tartar has no leavening qualities at all. It is the acidic counterpart that allows the baking soda to react and not leave a bitter taste in the cookie after it is baked. Baking soda must always be used with an acid based food such as buttermilk, yogurt, fruits, and cream of tartar. A Snickerdoodle recipe usually calls for two parts cream of tartar to one part baking soda. However, in the absence of cream of tartar you can replace this two to one formula with baking powder.
Delicious Cookie Recipes
Baking powder is also a leavening agent. It produces a gas during the baking process that raises the baked good in the oven. Baking powder makes a good substitution in this recipe because it is conveniently made of baking soda, cornstarch, and cream of tartar. If you have baking powder in your cupboard, then you have the cream of tartar necessary to make Snickerdoodles. However, although you can substitute baking powder in your Snickerdoodle recipe, you may arrive at a different finished result. It will taste every bit as good as you want it too, you will find that it is a thicker cookie that has spread less in the oven during the baking period. Since most people find this favorable in a cookie then it should not be a problem. If you have always enjoyed thinner, crispier Snickerdoodles, then stick with the original formula that uses cream of tartar. Whether you are using the baking soda cream of tartar combination or the baking powder alone, you will make a crackled, spicy, sweet treat enjoyed by all.
